GUILD Salon Styling Session

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited for a personal styling session at the GUILD salon, just a few days before their official launch date on the 20th November.

The first GUILD salon was opened in Paris 2011 and we’re now privileged enough to have the chance to experience that same Parisian flair in the heart of our country’s capital.

Standing proudly on King’s Road, the GUILD UK flagship branch is every bit as chic as you’d expect and with the Parisians, it would be nothing less than the best.

The inside of the salon is very minimalistic which just adds to their air of coolness. The staff were very accommodating and after being greeted with warm smiles I made my way to the back of the salon to have my hair washed. This was actually the highlight of my evening because whilst you’re getting your hair washed you also get to enjoy the massage chairs which puts your whole body into a state of relaxation.

Once my hair was washed, the stylist Aude asked me what look I was hoping to achieve. As I have naturally straight hair I often find I lack volume, so from this brief she suggested lots of curls to give my hair bounce!

To achieve this look Aude dried small sections of my hair with a hot curl brush and hair dryer, clipping each curl in place until my whole head was dry. Next she unclipped all the sections and let the curls loose and boy did I have a lot of hair! Aude then brushed my hair through, finished off with plenty of hairspray, and the end result was some very bodacious tresses!

All the products used at GUILD are all top quality with familiar brands such as Shu Uemura and Redken which are part of the range.

The GUILD salon is now officially open so if you’re looking to get your hair done for those upcoming Christmas parties then book yourself in. Your hair will be in very safe and capable hands, and you’ll be guaranteed to turn heads as you make your entrance!
