Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

I like most women in the world I’m sure, am always on a quest to find the perfect mascara, one that will give me more length and make my lashes look fuller and voluminous!

I last raved about Giorgio Armani’s Eyes To Kill mascara which is one of my Holy Grail mascaras! It gives me length, volume and can hold the curl for an exceptionally long time. Nonetheless it’s always good to have a second alternative so when I saw that Glamour magazine were giving away Benefit goodies, which included Bad Gal Lash mascara I couldn’t resist!

I’d heard a lot of good things about Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash mascara before and this was on my list of “things to buy”, so I was excited to have a sample to test out before splashing out on the full sized product!

Bad Gal Lash comes with a pretty massive brush (compared to others I’ve used) so it was a little tricky at first for my sparse, straight lashes. Nonetheless I manage to manoeuvre it between lashes and build up some pretty nice volume! Each lash was evenly coated and the look remained natural (I’m not particularly fond of “spider lashes”).

The mascara added some length to my lashes and is pretty long lasting and I only experienced some slight smudging throughout the day (not uncommon for my watery eyes). The curl didn’t hold for as long as the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill mascara, but it’s nothing an eyelash curler won’t fix!

Bad Gal Lash retails at around £16.50 which is naturally pricier than drug store brands such as Rimmel, L’Oreal and Maxfactor. This is definitely a splurge product so I’m glad I got the chance to try it out first. I’ll probably hold off purchasing it for the time being, but I’ll certainly bear it in mind when I’m on the hunt for a new mascara.

Have you tried Bad Gal Lash mascara before? Does it work well for your lashes?

Love Sophia xo

Hi. This is a great review of Bad Gal lash. I love Benefit products and was also pleased by the Glamour freebie, I got the Porefessional. I’ve been wanting to try out Bad Gal lash but have too many mascaras on the go at the moment :). Great post!

Hey, it’s oddinary from Instagram! Interesting you say that the mascara remains neutral, cos I thought from the name “bad gal” it’d be super voluminous and clumpy? Haha! You should try Shiseido’s Mascara Base if you haven’t already – it’s my holy grail, instantly thickens every mascara and maintains curl! :)

Heyy! Thanks for stopping by on my blog! :) I think it remained quite neutral for me cos I’d only applied 1 coat. You’re right though the name definitely suggests it should be a lot more! I will have to play around with it some more :) Ooo the Mascara Base sounds awesome! It’s available in the UK too right? I’ll have to check it out :D

That’s great! :) Does this mascara have a more dramatic affect on your lashes or is it quite similar to the look I achieved? I’m glad you enjoyed my post. :) x

Oo I’ve heard good things about “It’s Real”! What effect do you get after application? I still love the Eyes to Kill mascara at the moment, I’ll be sad when it’s finished lol x
