MAC Cut A Caper Lipstick Review
This weekend I’m excited to say that I have purchased my first ever MAC lipstick! I’ve never considered MAC as a go to brand for lipsticks especially with brands such as L’Oreal, Revlon and Rimmel who have an extensive offering of lipsticks already. However lately I’ve come across a fair few reviews about them so in order to see if they live up to their hype, I decided to buy one and chose the shade ‘Cut A Caper’.
The MAC lipsticks are packaged in a sleek graphite coloured case and is reminiscent of a bullet, with MAC’s trademark logo stamped along the centre.
From the lipstick bullet, Cut A Caper looks like a warm coral pink shade but applies like a pinky nude on my lips! It is quite pigmented with a lustre finish and on closer inspection there are actually some minute glittery specks which help add to the glossy sheen.
The lipstick feels really moisturising and keeps my lips looking plump and full, and I love the colour! Also I’m not sure if all other MAC lipsticks have an individual scent, but Cut a Caper smells so lovely! It reminds me of candy floss or those tiny milk bottle sweets, nom!
Now that I own a lipstick by MAC I do see what the fuss is about! Although as much as I love it, there are still certainly much cheaper alternatives out on the high street so I would consider this more of a splurge item. Also the formula could be a more long lasting given the price you’re paying.
When I purchased my MAC lipstick from Selfridges I paid £13.50, but having looked directly on the MAC website they are £14 each. I imagine shops will soon go by the price stated on the website, but until then it’s probably worth looking in stores first if you’re looking to buy.
So do you own any MAC lipsticks? What’s your favourite shade? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
