What’s In My Bag – Travel Edition
I haven’t done a What’s In My Bag post for a while and seeing as I’m currently on holiday here’s an updated What’s In My Bag – Travel Edition post!
I decided to take the same Zara bag as I purchased when I last went to HK as it’s sturdy, roomy and has a zip for added safety! Also black goes with everything so it will co-ordinate with my outfits much better. Ok, so let’s see what’s in my bag…
Book
I don’t read half as much as I used to, but when I go on holiday I make sure I take a book because with all the travelling it’s the perfect time to really immerse yourself in a story! I bought The Fault In Our Stars a while ago and haven’t got round to reading it, but I can’t wait to pick it up and get stuck in on the plane.
Camera
No holiday would be complete without a camera to capture those precious memories! This Panasonic Lumix LX5 is the best camera I’ve ever invested in. It’s a compact digital camera but with enough settings to allow you to take some really great photos, film in HD and it’s a fraction of the weight of a proper DSLR.
Makeup
When I’m travelling I like to keep my makeup light and just bring along the essentials. These are the key products that I’ll bring with me on the plane so that I look fresh and presentable when I land. I’m swapping my usual liquid eyeliner for a pencil one like this Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer as it’ll be easier to apply when I’m in the air. It also has a smudger at the end so I can create a quick, subtle smoky eye in seconds! For my complexion I can’t be without favourite Missha Signature BB Cream and for blush I’m using what’s left of my Becca Beach Tint which doubles up as cheek and lip colour. For perfume I’ve recently been using the Dior Addict perfume from this tiny bottle so it’s the perfect size for travelling!
Skincare
When you’re on the plane you can’t forget to bring along some hydrating essentials as the air in the cabin can really dry out your skin! I like to wear a face mask about half way through the flight, this time’s choice is My Beauty Diary Bird’s Nest Face Mask. Every now then I will also refresh my complexion with Avene Thermal Spring Water to replenish the moisture that’s being lost in the air. For moisturiser I’m taking along some Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Comfort Balm as my skin has been a little on the dry side recently. My choice of hand cream is the Laura Mercier Fig Hand Cream which I received as a Christmas present this year along with 3 other gorgeous scents! For lip Balm it has to be my trusted Burt’s Bees lip balm which is always a permanent addition to my lip care collection.
Key Items
Last but not least these items are key to any holiday! My iPhone doubles up as my iPod now and I’ve created a few playlists on spotify, ready for the journey. These a-JAYS headphones were another Christmas present and are very comfortable to wear as well as having good sound quality. You also can’t be without a wallet and a passport if you’re trying to travel. 🙂 Also it’s handy to have a packet of tissues with you as you’ll never know when you might need them!
Well that’s it for my What’s In My Bag – Travel Edition!
So what do you take when you’re going on holiday?
