Ideal Home Show 2013
Now I’m sure many of you have heard of the Ideal Home Show, but if you haven’t basically what it is, is a massive event held at Earl’s Court showcasing a multitude of products across various different categories. There’s furniture (both for the home and garden), DIY tools, Food and Kitchen gadgets, Technology, Makeup/Skincare, Fashion and show homes too dressed up in the finest décor!
On Saturday, I started off the day meeting Rachel who blogs at Sweetpea London and she had kindly invited me along to the Ideal Home Show with her! We collected our Press Passes at the Press Office and made our way to the entrance of the show. I’ve never been to an exhibition before, so when I first went in I found it overwhelming because there’s just so much to take in all at once!
The ground floor was where the show homes, furniture, DIY tools, hot tubs etc were stationed. Even though it wasn’t what I had in mind to look at, there were still some fantastic things on offer and had I enough funds I’m sure I could have been easily persuaded!
The second floor was a bit more up our street as this was “Woman, Shopping, Food and Housewares”. The ideal floor in other words!
I’d heard Benefit was exhibiting at the show so was really eager to see what bargains I could find, but sadly the hype was short lived. The only offer they had was 10% off all the products and you get a sample kit if you buy 3 or more items. I thought this was a bit disappointing really, but nevertheless a discount is a discount. I did in the end choose not to buy anything because I know Debenhams have 10% off all cosmetics and perfume at the moment so I’ll be looking there instead. At least then I know I haven’t got time restrictions and there’s more space to look at the products properly!
On the bright side, we stumbled upon a Korean cosmetics brand which is newly launched in the UK called Touch In SOL. With them being so new they had massive introductory offers across all their products (pretty much everything was 50% off!) so I managed to pick up a few bargains (haul to follow!) They’re looking to open a shop in the foreseeable future too which will be a big bonus as it’s quite difficult to source Asian cosmetics here in the UK at the moment. 🙂
We also came across Tropics Skincare which was founded by Susan Ma, contestant from The Apprentice in 2011. After a lovely complimentary hand treatment, we actually had the chance to meet Susan herself who was milling around the crowds and taking the opportunity to speak to passing shoppers which was nice!
If you got tired from all the shopping, there was a Champagne and Pamper Lounge with complimentary treatments such as a mini makeover, manicures and pedicures and head, neck and back massages by the London College of Beauty Therapy.
There were other brands which I recognised too such as Elemis (who also had a mini pamper lounge), Sass and Belle and Tea Pigs!
Overall it was a really fun day and I had a great time! 🙂 I highly recommend going next year if you’ve never been before, it’s a day definitely not to be missed! As far as I know, dates for next year are: 14th – 30th March 2014.
So did you have a chance to go to The Ideal Home Show this year? Do you think you’ll go next year?
Love Sophia xo
