Real Techniques Core Collection Review
Hi everyone!
I hope your week is going well! 🙂 Today I just wanted to share with you my Real Techniques Core Collection Review! I FINALLY managed to find these sought after brushes last weekend! It was purely accidental that I should stumble upon these brushes, but a brilliant accident nonetheless. I actually thought I may never find them since the weeks following the launch of the Real Techniques brushes, I went into 5 Boots stores in total (in London too) and I just could not find a store which had them in stock!
So the Real Techniques brushes were created by professional Makeup Artist, Samantha Chapman who (as most of you will know) also runs Pixiwoo.com with her sister Nicola. I love watching Pixiwoo videos and have always been really intrigued by these brushes every time Sam and Nicola used them in their videos. When Sam announced that the brushes were going to be launched in our Boots stores, I was so excited and had been eagerly anticipating their arrival ever since!
As you can see I have purchased the Core Collection which includes: a Buffing Brush, a Pointed Foundation Brush, a Contour Brush and a Detailer Brush.
1) Buffing Brush – “Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation”
2) Pointed Foundation Brush – “Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage”
3) Contour Brush – “Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish”
4) Detailer Brush – “Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition”
The main length of the brushes are a lovely metallic orange colour and there is a black grippy handle at the end of each one. The bristles are lovely and soft and I have noticed there is no shedding when I am applying my makeup. There is nothing worse than when you’ve applied your makeup perfectly, and it’s ruined by stray hairs from your makeup brush! Luckily you won’t get that with these Real Techniques brushes 🙂
I picked up the Core Collection for £21.99 which I think is a reasonably priced considering the quality of the brushes. You get a makeup case as well to store the brushes, which is a bonus as you can never have too many places to store makeup brushes! You can also use it as a makeup stand which is great if you’re on the go! As much as I love higher end brushes by MAC, it’s nice to have brushes which are more affordable (and it means you can buy more too! ;))
So does anyone else own any of the Real Techniques brushes? What’s your favourite brush?
Love Sophia xo

Everyone is raving about these at the moment, but are they really worth the hype? I’m umm-ing and ah-ing about whether I should invest in them or not. Convince me!
