Benefit POREfessional Primer Review

I like most people I’m sure, am always on the hunt for makeup which stays put, controls oil, waterproof etc. Whilst it can be hard to find a product which incorporates all of those things, I don’t mind settling for makeup which just stays put, minimises pores and keeps oil at bay which is what I get from the Benefit POREfessional Primer.

I first started off with a sample of the POREfessional from a magazine and once I started using it I quickly fell in love. Since finishing the sample I immediately had to purchase the full sized tube!

The primer admittedly feels a little like silicone but it blends into the skin flawlessly with a mattifying finish and Benefit are true to their word when they say it minimises the look of pores. My pores are largest around my nose area so this is where I concentrate my application on, and after I’ve blended the product in I can instantly see how diminished my pores look. I also dab a little on my forehead to mattify the area before applying my foundation.

In time I’ve also noticed that it does a good job of controlling my dry combination skin by minimising oil in all the right places (forehead and nose). There was a time I would feel the need to blot my skin with blotting papers quite regularly before using the primer but now I can’t even remember when I last had to do so!

The only downside I’ve noticed with the POREfessional is that it can cling to dry patches (something I often find with mattifying products) so I’d recommend only applying on areas where you actually need it.

The Benefit POREfessional Primer is £24.50 which is a little on the pricey side compared to a lot of high street brands, but a little does go a long way and if you’re like me and only require small amounts at a time any way this tube will last you a good while! You can buy the POREfessional from Benefit’s website, Boots and most department stores.

Do you currently use a primer in your makeup routine? What’s your favourite?
