Shu Uemura UV Under Base Brightening Mousse Review
Firstly sorry for the lack of posts last week! I’ve been suffering from a bout of vertigo which left me feeling like I was constantly spinning, therefore my concentration was not at its best…
Anyway I’m now feeling back to my normal self and am ready to do some blogging! I’m going to get started off with my review of the Shu Uemura UV Under Base Brightening Mousse.
They say the key to long lasting makeup is to start with a really good base. Primers help to mattify the skin, even out your skin tone and absorb any excess oil that you may have to ensure foundation applies effortlessly and allows maximum staying power!
The Shu Uemura UV Under Base Brightening Mousse is as the name suggests, a light weight mousse and goes on as an under base before makeup. There are 3 other types of Under Base Mousse (Beige UV Under Base Mousse, BB UV Under Base Mousse and Pink UV Under Base Mousse) but as this is the brightening mousse it has a slight whitish finish, incorporated with a pink/purple hue.
The tiniest pump of the Brightening Mousse goes a long way and can cover the entire face. I distributed the mousse evenly over my face and blended in with my finger tips. It does look a bit ghastly at first, but if you blend in really well it won’t be noticeable. It instantly smoothed my skin and balanced out my complexion. My foundation applied very fluidly afterwards and gave a really flawless finish.
The Shu Uemura UV Under Base Brightening Mousse helped my makeup to last virtually all day and it didn’t transfer either, which I have experienced if I had been lazy and skipped primer (tut tut). It comes with SPF30 too which is great for combating those pesky UV rays and preventing premature ageing! This was a must have for me whilst I was on holiday, and it did a good job of protecting my face from the sun. A great alternative to sun cream which I find much too heavy for the face and is terrible for clogging pores (yikes!)
Now admittedly this isn’t the cheapest product and retails at £29. I’m sure there must be a more purse friendly alternative which I will definitely be on the search for! Shu Uemura products are always great investments though as they are very high quality and always enhance the skin’s natural beauty.
