Percy and Reed Finishing Polish Review

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a lovely week and looking forward to the weekend πŸ™‚ I can’t believe it’s the beginning of March today. February has just been a complete whirlwind and went by soooo fast! I’m glad the weather is getting warmer though and it’s starting to feel like spring! Let’s hope it stays this way though!

So anyway, today at lunch I popped to the local shop and as always I have a wander at the magazine section. What caught my eye today was the April issue of Glamour! Not only is the stunning Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men, The Hunger Games) on the cover, I also got the Percy and Reed Finishing Polish too which is a bonus!

Percy and Reed Finishing Polish Review 1

I’ve heard of Percy and Reed, but it’s never been a brand which I followed. I’m generally quite simple when it comes to hair care, shampoo and conditioner, and that’s my hair sorted! However when I saw this, I knew I had to give it a whirl..

Percy and Reed Finishing Polish Review 2

With this month’s Glamour you can choose from 4 different Percy and Reed products: Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish,Β Splendidly Silky Moisturising Shampoo,Β Splendidly Silky Moisturising Conditioner andΒ Totally TLC Hydrating Mask. You get a 100ml tube which is a decent amount even though it’s about half of the full sized one.

The packaging is very simplistic which I love! Everything is in black and white, and there’s a drawing of a model wearing a trench coat printed on the front which adds a touch of femininity. As they say, “less is more”.

The scent of the Finishing Polish is not your typical hair product smell. It actually reminds me of smells from a garden if anything else, kinda herby and grassy (if this makes sense!). I’m guessing that’s from the Sunflower Seed Wax and perhaps the Horse Chestnut? It’s not an overwhelming scent though so I’m sure you’ll get used to it!

Percy and Reed Finishing Polish Review 4

The texture is incredibly light and non sticky. It smooths out my hair, and tames annoying flyaways without leaving my hair looking greasy! I’m going to give this a proper go tomorrow though, just to see how this Finishing Polish holds up throughout the day! πŸ™‚ I’ll keep you all posted!

From what I’ve found on the internet, you can purchase full sized 250ml tube of these Percy and Reed’s products costs around Β£14! Unfortunately you can’t purchase through their website, but you can get them from Space NK, Selfridges and QVC!

Well I hope you enjoyed myΒ Percy and Reed Finishing Polish Review!

Did anyone else pick up Glamour’s April issue? Which product did you receive?

Let me know!

Love Sophia xo

I got the finishing polish, conditioner and hydrating mask. But I really want to get my hands on the shampoo.I tried the conditioner today and I already love it.Smells great and makes my hair feel uber soft. πŸ™‚ Oh how I love Glamour for spoiling us lucky girls. πŸ™‚

I have my own beauty blog over at – Hope you can visit and follow if you like what you see. Thanks in advance πŸ™‚ I would love for us to become blogger friends since we share the same passion in beauty products. Looking forward from hearing from you. Take care. πŸ™‚

Oh wow you bought 3 copies! I only had a choice between 2 lol. Have you tried the Hydrating Mask yet? I wanted to get that one, but there was only the Finishing Polish and the Shampoo one left! Should’ve got the shampoo one too and swapped with you πŸ˜›

Glamour certainly do give away some great beauty products! I especially love it when they give away the nail polishes πŸ˜€ Have you ever picked any of those up?

I’d love to become blogger friends! I think you’ve got a lovely blog πŸ™‚ xx

I haven’t tried the Hydrating Mask yet but I’m really excited about it.I think later on this week I’ll be giving it a go. I shall post a review on it as soon as I can πŸ™‚
The shampoo is still on my mind. haha.I really don’t want to pick up another copy though. It just seems so crazy. haha. The day I picked up the 3 copies the lady in the cashier looked at me like I had 3 heads on me. She kept saying ”oh my god.” To non beauty addicts/blogger it’s downright ridiculous but it’s the curse of being a beauty blogger. πŸ˜€

i LOVE the Nails Inc nailpolishes. I picked up 3 copies to get Tate, Basil Street and Piccadilly Circus. No regrets just love. πŸ™‚ I actually wrote a review about the nailpolishes.

I hope we really become blogger friends. πŸ™‚ Thank you. I think your blog is lovely too. Keep it touch. πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about the Hydrating Mask πŸ™‚ I’m happy with the Finishing Polish, even if the smell is a bit different, lol.

Haha, I can imagine some people may not understand our beauty blogger “needs” πŸ˜› I think you’re justified in buying 3 copies of the same magazine just for the free gift πŸ˜€ Hey have you picked up this month’s Cosmopolitan? They’re giving away 4 Clinique products, 2 with each magazine! Go have a look if you haven’t already!

Are you on Twitter? Facebook? We can certainly keep in touch! πŸ˜€

If you did pick up the shampoo you won’t regret it! My hair gets really greasy so I decided against the Finishing Polish (they only had the Polish and the Shampoo in my local shop too,) and I was gutted I couldn’t get the mask :/ But! The shampoo is lovely, it smells beautiful and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean and super soft. πŸ˜€
Long time fashion and beauty blogger myself, only just discovered you and will keep a watchful eye as I like your style πŸ™‚

Eek I’m really tempted to buy the magazine again for shampoo, lol. They had 2 copies left when I was in the shop again today (not sure which ones they were). Hmm, we’ll see πŸ˜› It sounds like a great product though πŸ™‚
And I’m so happy that you like my style! πŸ™‚ I’ve looked at your blog too and think it’s great! I particularly love your photos, they look really professional! I hope we keep in touch! xx

Oh wow you bought all 4 magazines too πŸ™‚ It’s always handy to read a few reviews before making a purchase, especially if something a product is expensive! I’d love to have tried the hydrating mask πŸ™‚ maybe next time! x

I just got the finishing cream and I took ages to decide between it and the conditioner (am a twit, should have just bought both and given the 2nd mag away). I have really curly (3a and 3b) fine curls and am so wary of putting cream or serum on them as they become flat and look oddly glued to my head…attractive. So far though I really like this! I am happy it is silicone free – all you girls with curls and fine hair, beware of silicone! It smells like a Spring morning in a dewy garden but is not overly floral and sweet.

SO worth the 2 quid. I am going back for the conditioner and will check other shops to find the masque and the shampoo!

My friends will be happy for the magazine gift… πŸ™‚

That’s what choice I had too, conditioner or finishing cream lol. It’s good that it works for your hair though! I like it as well, because you’re right without the silicone it doesn’t make hair heavy or frizzy! πŸ™‚ So did you manage to pick up anymore magazines? x

That sounds amazing! Is it expensive to have your hair cut at Percy and Reed? I’m still tempted to buy the other 3 magazines for the complete set of products lol x

i eventually got to try my percy and reed products on saturday,
the shamphoo lathered really well with only a small amount but did leave my hair feeling like straw despite it being wet, i knew if i tried to comb it then i would struggle, the conditioner changed that straw like feeling to silky smooth and very easy to comb once dried it felt really soft, with going out i needed to dry it with hairdryer which is something i rarely do as it makes it very flyaway and soon looks untidy, the finishing polish tamed that again using very little. it smoothed it and gave it a lovely shine. having very fine hair i have to be wary of what products i use after washing and have yet to find one that dosent leave it looking greasy very quickl. im hoping to use the mask soon. i actually got asked if i had dyed my hair, as it was so shiney, im keeping this range for special times lol and might look into buying the full sized products over time but will need to hide them from my daughters lol. even my sister is now on the hunt for the magazine to see what they are like on her hair.

I’ve heard so many good things about this shampoo so I’ll definitely have to try it! I’m not sure if Superdrugs or Boots have it yet, but they have it on Selfridges online or ASOS πŸ™‚
