Pamper Night Routine

There is nothing I like better on a Sunday than to have enjoyed a makeup free day, not commit myself to anything strenuous and simply unwind from the week’s activities, ready to begin the next one. Pamper nights are a little sacred to me and it feels good to have that time to myself to relax, so here is my typical Pamper Night Routine.

Pamper Night Routine 5

I like to add a bit of luxury to my ol’ shower time routine by using a nice, relaxing shower gel such as the Neal’s Yard English Lavendar Bath and Shower Gel. The scent is not one of sweet, but more grassy and outdoorsy but there is something so refreshing about it. After rinsing off I follow on with a good scrub. One which I’ve been using recently is the Soap and Glory Scrub Of Your Life exfoliator to buff away the dullness and reveal smooth, soft skin. Hair wise I use half of my current shampoo and conditioner duo, Moist Diane Extra Damage Repair Shampoo (I know, surely there’s another name they could’ve used?!)  and instead of the conditioner I apply a hair mask and leave in for around 5 minutes.

With my shower over it’s time to move onto my face which I start off by cleansing. I use the Philosophy Purity Cleanser for days which I haven’t worn makeup and use the Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse if I have. After giving my face a good wash I pat dry with a clean towel.

Next comes my favourite part, exfoliating. I’ve been using the Neal’s Yard Honey and Orange Facial Scrub for 2-3 years now (this is my second jar) and I swear by this. It not only smells delicious but it removes the dead skin without stripping your face bare or being overly abrasive. After moving the scrub around in gentle circular motions I leave the residue to sit on my face for about a minute before washing off using warm water.

Again I pat my face dry and move on to my face mask of choice. If I’m looking for a deep cleanse I go straight for the Algenist Algae Brightening Mask, apply a medium layer and leave on for 20 minutes. [If not this algae mask I’ll simply use a sheet mask and leave on for the recommended time or until it becomes a little dry. After using a sheet mask I’ll actually skip the serum and moisturiser steps and rub the excess serum into my complexion instead which is hydrating enough to last me throughout the night and into the morning.]

During this time I’ll check social media or read a book (currently reading Gone Girl and it’s just SO good!) When the time’s up, I rinse off the mask (if using Algenist) and proceed to pat dry my face…again.

Pamper Night Routine 3

To finish off I apply my current favourite Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum and pat into my skin gently, let it sink in for a minute and then apply my go to night time moisturiser, the Neal’s Yard Frankinsence Hydrating Cream. As I have yet to buy a new eye cream, it’s proving to be not only moisturising for my complexion but also my under eye area. It doesn’t quite diminish dark circles but it’s made applying concealer in the mornings a lot smoother.

Pamper Night Routine 4

And that sums up my pamper night routine!

What do you do to pamper yourself?

Love Sophia xo

P.S Also apologies for the lighting, it was one of those days where the light just wasn’t playing nice!

I picked up Philosophy’s cleanser when I was in the US recently, I can’t wait to give it a try. It was an old favourite.
