With social media currently playing a big part in our lives (work, friends, family), we can’t help but get swept up by the hype! We all saw Instagram, App Store’s ‘App of the Year’ in 2011 become one of the most popular and fun way of sharing photos with your friends and others around the world. With the use of subtle filter effects, it can add depth and dimension to a photo which makes photo sharing, that little bit more interesting! Instagram is so 2011 though, now in 2012 it’s all about ‘Pinterest’.
Pinterest is an online pinboard which allows you to pin your favourite photographs/videos to specifically named ‘pin boards’. Like with most social media applications, you can have ‘followers’ who will get updated on the things you post. You can ‘repin’ photos/videos which other people have ‘pinned’ so you can share them with people who are following you.
In my opinion I think this is a really great idea! It’s nice to see SO many different photographs/videos and the beauty in each one. You can browse photographs from 32 different categories and view an ecclectic mix of videos too.
It’s free to sign up and it’s a fun way for creating fantastic boards which will reflect your likes and moods! It’s nice to share your interests with others. 🙂 I love it, but it’s SO addictive! ♥
