Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Review

Hi readers! So how is everyone? You remember when I said that this summer I went to Hong Kong and while I was there I managed to pick up some Laneige products? Well I thought as I’ve been using these products since I came back to the UK, I decided I’d write a review on each product! I’m going to start things off with my Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Review!

How I use it:

The Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner looks blue in the bottle, but it actually comes out as an ever so slight milky colour and definitely not blue (even though that would be really cool..) So I start off with a freshly cleansed face and then hold a cotton pad over the nozzle of the bottle. I then shake the bottle a few times until there is a decent sized amount of toner on the pad. Next I proceed to wipe the dampened cotton pad over my entire face, starting from my T-Zone and working my way outwards. I let this dry and then continue with the rest of my skin care routine. Nice and easy to use!

My Verdict:

So I’ve been testing out my Laneige products religiously since I’ve been home and I find its given me a very good idea of how the Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner works for my skin. Sadly I must conclude that this is not the right product for me. =( Although it says it’s for ‘All Skin Types’ I found that it was actually making my skin produce more oil, especially my forehead! There is nothing I dislike more than a ‘shiny forehead’. At first I did think it could just be the weather making my skin oily, but only up until 2 weeks ago I realised it really wasn’t. It was in fact the Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner. Since I stopped using this my skin has improved dramatically and when I wake up I haven’t got that horrible greasy feeling that I was getting when I was using it! I know it’s generally recommended to use toner when you have finished cleansing, but I think this Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner may have been one product too many in my skin care routine. Perhaps I’ll have better luck with a different toner! =)

Have any of you tried the Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner or any other Laneige products?

Well I hope you enjoyed my Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner review! Stay tuned for my next post, my Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel review..

Hi! I don’t know if your still active on your blog, but i’m a huge fan and I myself also bought a package from the store Amore and it came with this too. And so I was wondering if after you use it if you wash it off, because I didn’t excatly know how to use it so all these times i’ve been washing it off. Thank You.

      Hi Juliana,

I’m still active on my blog, I try to update as often as I can! 🙂
When I use the Skin Refiner, I put a tiny amount on a cotton pad and wipe over my face. I don’t normally wash it off, I just go straight on to applying the rest of my skin products!
      I hope this helps!

Hi, there’s actually the basic care, power refiner for different skin types, did you try those? I thought of giving the refiner light (which is suitable for oily-combination skin) a try..

      Hi Jasmine

I haven’t tried the other products as these ones were the one that the sales assistant recommended to me. Perhaps when I go to HK again I can try them out! Do you use many Laneige products?

Hey, actually laneige have this toner for oilyombinion. It is called the same thing, but with the word light. It is more for oily skin combination. This one you are using is for normal or dry skin. I urge to get that product a try ….

Hey, thanks for the advice! I’ll certainly look into Laneige products more thoroughly in future. 🙂 At the time I think it was more impulse buying so I probably didn’t choose the right products for my skin! Although it was the sales assistant who recommended them to me. Perhaps my skin was different at the time though due to the humidity!
