Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo

Over the months I’ve gone from not using any products in my hair (other than shampoo and conditioner) to using sea salt sprays, wax and the like! With the increased amount of product being applied to my locks, it meant that I needed to balance it out by using a clarifying shampoo and that was when I decided on the Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo.

To start off with I was using baby shampoo to wash my hair once a week (sometimes twice) and whilst it was gentle, I didn’t find it did much in terms of clarifying the tresses!

I then thought about buying the Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo, but was put off when I realised that it’s not for colour treated hair. Although my hair hasn’t been treated for a while now, I still like the colour that remains and the dip dye effect, and don’t want to speed up the fading!

The Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo is for detoxing the hair and cleansing it of product and pollution build up and also oil which can really weigh hair down.

It’s suitable for all hair types and you use it either once or twice a week. I use it once a week, sometimes every 2 weeks because I feel like that’s enough for me. It’s a pearly green and the smell of witch hazel is most apparent, but other ingredients include eucalyptus, ferula, sage, St John’s Wort and chamomile.

After use my hair feels very fresh and I notice that once dry it feels just that touch lighter, especially at the roots. Even without conditioner my hair still feels soft and easy to brush!

The Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo costs £10.50 for 125ml which isn’t too unreasonable and given the frequency you’d need to use it, it’s going to last a while. I bought the shampoo from John Lewis but Feel Unique, Space NK and Selfridges are also places to consider.

Do you use a clarifying shampoo on your hair?
