My Hair Care Routine
I’ve always had long hair and for some they believe with that comes a lot of hassle in looking after it, but My Hair Care Routine is incredibly simple and fuss free. Here are the steps I follow to keeping my hair looking healthy and manageable…
Now I must admit that I’m one of those people who washes their hair every day. Unless I know I’m not venturing out then I’ll maybe give my hair a day, possibly 2 and use dry shampoo to freshen up in between instead.
For shampoo and conditioner I’ve been using the Aussie Mega Instant Shampoo and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner. This is a combination which I’ve been using for years and whilst I have tried other brands in between I always come back to Aussie. The formula doesn’t strip my hair of it’s natural oils and nor does it leave any greasy residue. My hair is feels fresh, clean and it smells great too!
Once a week (sometimes twice) I use a hair mask to moisturise and rehydrate my hair, focusing on the ends where it tends to be the most dry. My favourite is the Essential Rich Premier Ultra Honey Hair Mask which always leaves my hair feeling silky and soft. I also use the Phyto Clarifying Detox shampoo weekly for a deep clean and to remove any build up which can make hair look limp.
After washing my hair I wrap in a hair turban and leave to dry for a while. When I unwrap it my hair is no longer dripping so then I go on to run some hair oil such as the Awapuhi by Paul Mitchell Treatment Oil through the ends before blow drying.
As I’m drying my hair I will twist it around my fingers continuously until completely dry. The reason for this is because since getting a digital perm in Hong Kong recently, the hairdresser advised I’ll be able to keep the perm much longer this way.
To give my hair a bit more texture I occasionally spritz some Toni and Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray through it. Although if I do skip this part I just wear my soft waves instead but use some Lucido-L Hair Make Supplement Treatment Oil – Perm to gently style.
That’s it for my hair care routine! As I said at the beginning it’s very simple which I love especially when I’m on the go.
So what’s your current hair care routine?
