Current Favourites #1
I’ve attempted to commit to ‘Monthly Favourites’ posts in the past, but honestly, my favourites don’t change all that often so I’ve decided on doing ‘Current Favourites’ instead. These posts will feature products (beauty or non beauty) which I’m currently loving and as and when I’ve got new products to share my love for, I’ll feature them in the next post! So here’s my Current Favourites #1.
Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo
I’ve never really been a fan of dry shampoo, but with it getting closer to winter, to prevent my hair from getting damaged by indoor heating as well as the cold I’m trying to not wash my hair every day. Instead I’ve been using the Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo for days in between washes and not only does it smell fruity (almost like yoghurt, weirdly) it’s been great for absorbing the excess oil that builds up around the crown of my head as well as on the sides near my ears. It also gives a tiny bit of texture too without looking greasy which is what I found most often with the Batiste Dry Shampoo. This is definitely a product I’ll think about repurchasing in the next coming months when I’m running low!
Urban Decay Naked Palette
I know there’s now the Naked 2 and 3 palettes as well as the Urban Decay Naked Basics 1 & 2 palettes, but let’s not forget the original Urban Decay palette – where all the love began. With it now being autumn I’ve been playing around with warmer colours on the eyes and love a bit of ‘Half Baked’ and ‘Smog’ to create an autumnal smoky eye. Paired with a bold lip it’s definitely been one of my go to looks recently.
Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter
Since buying the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Powder I haven’t reached for another highlighter since, but I picked up this little gem at the John Lewis National Beauty Event recently and it’s honestly one of the best things I could’ve bought. It’s a cream based product, compared to the powder I was using before and it’s just so easy to apply. One swipe on each cheek bone, blend out the edges from the application and you’re good to go. Also any excess on my finger is just enough to highlight my brow bones as well as my nose, giving my complexion a dewy glow, accentuating the high points of my face. I’ll do a full review soon!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I don’t actually know how I’ve managed to not have this cult classic bronzer in my collection, but my God it’s good! It’s so natural and I LOVE the fact it has zero shimmer, making the face look in my opinion much more defined. You also don’t have to use a lot as well to cover your cheeks, jaw line and temple area so you can look effortlessly bronzed and healthy. I will definitely be doing a full review of this too!
Marc Jacobs Daisy
I picked this up in the summer at duty free and have been wearing it a lot ever since. I initially didn’t like the Daisy scent but after much spritzing and attending the #MJDaisyChain pop up shop in Covent Garden a few months ago, I’ve really warmed to it. It’s very light and fresh and is reminiscent of daisies as the name would suggest. It’s definitely one I reach for everyday and just perks me up a little whenever I’m wearing it. I also love the packaging with the oversized daisies, a pretty addition to any dresser.
And that just about sums up my Current Favourites #1. I’ll keep you updated on the next round of favourites soon!
